CANCELLED Nov 29 -- Cy birthday hike

Postby Ellen » Thu Nov 20, 2008 10:29 am

Howdy All :-)

Hear ye, hear ye! Come one, come all to the second annual Cy birthday hike and celebration on Saturday November 29th. In addition to honoring Cy, a hike in the San Jacintos will help burn off the Thanksgiving feast.

Last year we met at the original Las Consuelas at about 2 PM. This way, people could fit a hike in ahead of time. Does this sound like a good idea or does someone have other suggestions? If people can't stay for a meal, we can at least say "hi" to each other on Skyline (aka Cyline).

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

Great idea, but I'll be out of town that weekend. :(

P.S. Is the gathering on Nov 30 or Nov 29? Your subject line says Nov 30, but your post says Nov 29. I assume Nov 29, yes?

Howdy Jim :-)

Thanks for the clarification -- I seem to have a problem when I post dates on this board. We'll be celebrating on Saturday Nov 29. I'm sorry you'll be out of town -- I really enjoyed your company last year at this event.

Ellen

I know. I miss you guys too. Bummer. :(

Say, has anyone heard from Cynthia lately? I haven't seen a post from her in a long time.

I'd love to go, but I might be out of town too - that's thanksgiving weekend.

I will attempt to join the celebration that Saturday. Cy remains an inspiration to me and it would be great to see some of my fellow desert hikers.

Howdy Walt :-)

WOO HOO -- the Duke is back!!! It's great to see your post and I look forward to seeing you on the 29th.

Howdy Jim :-)

I've missed Cynthia too. She's been extremely busy with work and will be out of town on business Thanksgiving weekend :-(

Howdy Kathy,

I hope you're able to come.

Skyline conditions on Nov 29

Postby Ellen » Mon Nov 24, 2008 10:21 am

Howdy All :-)

Are any desert folks able to do Skyline reconnaissance this Friday in preparation for Cy's birthday hike on Saturday?

Miles of smiles and thanks,
Ellen

Cy's birthday hike

Postby Cy Kaicener » Mon Nov 24, 2008 10:32 am

The weather is questionable for this week end, so I might end up hiking in the Indian Canyons with Ted and Maria. My ankle is sore and I dont want to tackle any snow or ice with it. If my ankle is healed, I might tackle Skyline or part of it.
