East Coaster Visting

Hello,

I hope I'm not imposing by asking this questions here. I'm a trail runner from CT visiting Palm Springs on a company outing. These retreats can be really painful, but I'm hoping to have an escape early in the morning via some trail running before things get going. I'll be staying at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa. I don't have transportation to a trail head, so it would need to be something I can run to. I'm up for up to about 10 miles (recovering from NYC marathon).

If trail running is not going to be realistic, then any thoughts on where to on roads is appreciated too.

Thanks Much.

No worries. It's not that kind of a forum here. Questions are welcome as long as you're not asking the same question multiple times or asking stuff that's really easy to find out on Google. :D You will be very close to the Whitewater Wash, which kind of sucks because the horses use it, but there is a dirt path. I would recommend this other trail right behind Old Navy:

It's a lot of fun and has single track switchbacks with great views.

And I think that's hilarious! :D

The trail splits off a couple places. My favorite way is to go left at the beginning and parallel to the road, then go right and start the steep climb. It hooks up with the "Bump n' Grind" road and you can make a loop if you are good with navigation, but the simplest way is come back down the same way.
