Hi Tinaballina- my friend and I were considering it.

Does anyone know if we'd be able to summit without hitting any snow/ice? I know its been raining down here in San Diego the last day or so...Thanks.

I'm hoping to take the PCT from Snow Creek over the peak and down the Tram. It's a lot like C2C, only not so steep and a little longer. You might try it out sometime! See you out there on the trail!

Zippety- thats a great idea. Where does the PCT from Snow Creek originate? I'd like to try that sometime.

Or is that the Fuller Ridge trail?

Hi ohiker. Snow Creek is a tiny community just off Hwy 111, the first exit east of where Hwy 111 splits off of I-10. I think the trailhead is about 9 miles west of the intersection of the Tram Road and the 111.

The trail winds gently up the mountain - it's not steep - but it's 31 miles from trailhead to tram. When you're on the peak, you can see directly back down to Snow Creek (looking north), so it's really fun to see your starting point from the top.

I doubt there's any snow or ice after these very mild rains we've had here, but if there is, it'll only be a very small amount, so I wouldn't let that affect your planning at this point.

Hope you have a great trip either route.

Hi Cy! Hi Tina! Hi Kathy! Are you doing Skyline or C2C?

Incidentally, I don't remember the full mileage of C2C - is it 22.5? Something like that? (I ask so ohiker can compare the relative distances.) Also, I think the PCT route starts a little higher, but there are quite a few ups and downs once you're on the Fuller Ridge Trail, so you end up with a total elevation gain just a little over 12k. Pretty similar routes as far as total energy expended.
