Hey, are you training for something specific?
If you need a clear road for training that's close and convenient, you can do the old dirt road that runs from where the 243 veers left and goes up the mountain. The old road continues straight, then turns right and becomes a dirt road that winds its way up the mountain and comes out right where Poppet Flats road intersects the 243 at about 4000 feet elevation.
It's closer than the roads in your post, but not nearly as scenic. I've done it a couple times because 1) it's easy to drive down from the top and cache water at various points (vehicle access from the bottom crosses a sandy wash, which I'm afraid would bog down my car) and 2) it's just over 10 miles long, so you can get up to a 20 mile training run in on a nice, evenly graded road without having to run on asphalt.
