I'll see you all at 4:30 at the museum. I'll be the sleepy zombie with poles, black baseball cap, orange t-shirt and gray pants.

By the way, anyone looking for a shot of caffeine, there is a Denny's just a mile up from there.

Hi Cy, I hiked Skyline with you on 4/19 with a few other folks. I'm up for it again, and would love to join you on Saturday if possible... Is 4:00 am good, or do you want to start sooner?

I am so glad so many people will hike this Saturday. With a group of five people, I should not make promise about the exact start time. It will be between 3:30 and 4:00. I am sure we will meet during the hike.

Hi all!

Hey, what's up with the weather? First it looked like it would be too hot, now they're talking about it being 25 degrees at the top? What? That's bizarre, but I'm lovin' it!

Skyline is at its best on a crisp autumn morning. If some winds come in to make the view crystal clear, and their swirling sounds add an air of mystery to this fabled trail, so much the better!

It looks like quite a few people are going Saturday, so I look forward to meeting at least a few of you out there on the trail.

Hope you all have fun out there. For you first timers, it's a wonderful route, and I think you'll take home tales of an amazing adventure. Post about your experience when you get back!

Norris - I dont know exactly what time I can get there, but it could be a little before 3.30 am. I like to start slowly, because it takes me a long time to loosten up. Its an age thing you know.

All week long I was thinking about how to keep from boiling on the way up. It has been hotter than usual.

And it's pretty windy here right now. I'm leaving at 5am tomorrow, look forward to seeing some of you guys on the trail.

Parking update:

Just read that Palm Canyon Drive is now closed for American Heat Motorcycle weekend, between Alejo and Baristo. Still very simple to park and for those not familiar with the area:

Coming in from the north on N. Palm Canyon Drive (you'll be on the 111 from the freeway): Turn right on Alejo, first left on N. Belardo. Museum is about 0.5 mile on the right.

Coming in from the south or east: still simple but probably best to look at google maps as you could be coming in on several routes. PM me if you need help.
