Hey Tina,

your a tough chick! I would just enjoy anymore trips up & don't look at your watch (phone) till the top, that's what I do, some days are better than others for me.
It's to warm now to push hard, after 10 rounds up it this season, I'm heading up high & cool, will be taking morning tram up Sat's & going to San Jac (albiet a tough route).
Re. Skyline, I start easy, plenty of warm up time, plus I carry 150 ozs, (heavy).
I eat a bar or gel about every hr., and one bladder has H20 w/ a dash of Seasalt, the smaller one (70oz) with Vitalite (formerly Gookinaid / Hydralyte), which yields electrolytes & some carbs.

That trail is as much about energy mgmt. (of course one does have to be fit), as anything; go to fast in the beginning, don't eat or drink enough, get over heated, and game over.

Maybe we can head to the peak soon.

Great time, but be careful out there now that summer is here - a 5am to 6 am might be really difficult on a day where the temperature in Palm Springs will exceed 100 degrees.

What about Marion Mountain or Devil's Slide Trail to San Jacinto, Vivian Creek to San Gorgonio, or Bear Canyon to Baldy - those are all as difficult or more difficult than Skyline to the Tram and start at a higher elevation where it's a bit cooler?

Cool, maybe see you en-route to the peak, I can bow to the "ironwills" as you go by!!
Kathy's right, this hike can fry you, so go easy-but-steady, as you will anyway since your considering ( I know a good therapist?) do the big kahuna.
