I was up on Sunday and the conditions on round valley trail made crampons completely unnecessary. There is some snow over the last few miles, but only in 10-20 foot sections that are heavily trampled making passage in shoes or boots easy. Of course new snow could change this.

The temperatures have been sub-freezing the last couple of nights. I don't know this for a fact, but there is the potential that all that wet, slushy snow is really hard ice right now with a light dusting of snow on top, which could potentially be dangerous.

As of 9:50 AM today, the temperature at the tram is 29F, and the overnight low was 25F. It would be of course colder still as you ascend.

I am planning to hike the C2C Sunday and I hope the weather is semi-cooperative. It should be fun...anyone else planning a Sunday trek for sure? Come oooonnn sun!

The wx report is starting to look pretty good locally for Sunday and Monday.

i'm going on a mtn bike ride. i'll check weather when i get home. the Sierra is out. they are still predicting snow for tomorrow. anyone else thinking og heading up San J tomorrow? i'll look for posts when i return.

Norma - Tomorrow (Sunday) should be perfect weather for Skyline. Today there were six cars parked at the museum at 6 am, so hopefully you will get a trip report today. It looks like a fine dusting of snow just below the tram which should melt soon. Clouds covered Long Valley, so hopefully you will also get some cloud cover tomorrow. Kevin said that he was planning on going today.
I did not see Tina and Doreen's cars, so they must be going tomorrow.

The sun is out in Redlands now, but there are still lots of clouds in the sky. I'm probably heading up tomorrow morning - I haven't hiked in a couple weeks and need to get out.
