Looks like Baldy is inaccessible this Sunday Sad (IF ANYONE KNOWS OTHERWISE DO TELL!) I'll have to push my C2C hike one week ahead and attempt it this Sunday the 18th. Anyone heading out Sunday morning??

Nano -- good luck on Sunday. I just did skyline to the tram on Fri May 16. We left at 330am --- temps were not that bad, there was a breeze for most of the trip, which kept the temps reasonable. We did drink a lot of water, I had approx 2 gallons as the air is super dry out here. I did Baldy a lot in my training for this hike, and found that the Manker flat trail was a good training ground. The section after Flat Rock, mile 8, that everyone talks about is tough, so save some energy for the last section. It reminded me of the section on the Baldy trail (Manker Flat) right after the ski hut, the section that climbs to the saddle, It is as steep but much longer, just keeps going up. Also, pay attention to the trail after the traverse, we lost the trail for a few minutes, following someone else's tracks. Good luck!

Nano - a couple of us are leaving at 4.30am tomorrow and two other small groups are leaving around 5am. It's already over 100 here and the high tomorrow is projected at 110. We're going to take it fairly easy...

I will be going up in a group a three leaving between 3:00 and 3:30 AM. I expect us to be moving pretty slowly.

I decided to keep my orginal trip date for next sunday the 25th. I've been hearing about the heat this weekend and I wouldn't have started the trail until 630. Next week I'm starting at 5 just in case of the heat. I hope you guys have a nice hike!
