MSJac Park is closed. C2C or Skyline this weekend in doubt.

General Palm Springs area.

All I can say is give us rescue types a break and don't go into closed areas. The trail will still be there another weekend and there are plenty of other beautiful places to hike that are open. :D

The Skyline route is ok to do, since Long Valley is open, there were plenty of people there hiking today. I hiked up w/ friend today, 3 others on the trail.
I had an in depth talk with Park Personnel from Long Valley.
Air quality was good, slight breeze, 1 rattler (7k), good temps with an early start.
There main concern is people going into the backcountry or hiking over to check out the fire, (more probable for them to access the area from other directions).

Thanks for the update ss. I was thinking about taking my first Skyline of the year tomorrow, and wasn't sure if I should go.
