LOL, funny you should mention this, i do have a great mid week training program with my trainer who happened to turn me on to hiking....he changed my life with it so thank you for doing this.

Okay all, i have been hiking from the museum to 5500 feet with Doreen for a couple months now. Yesterday for the first time i was able to go all the way to the tram, WOW, what a great hike. I want to thank Doreen for teaching me the trail and the appreciation i have gained for the mountain. I also want to big time thank Sid for getting my butt up the mountain, finally.
Just wanted to share with the board.

I never really have a training program for things I like to do. I'd be extremely happy for an under-10-hour deal when I go up there with the outdoorsclub on 5/10. You are not reading this forum, are you, Verdi?

tinaballina, great news for you. I am excited that you made it w/o any crampons or an ice ax. I thought cy checked out the top a few days ago and said it was still dangerous. How hard was it to pass the traverse and going up from there? What time did you start in the morning?

Thank you...no ice axe or crampons needed at all....there were three spots where it was a bit hairy but i did fine. the snow is packed and there are deep foot prints to step into and i didn't look down. i know we went straight up a couple of places i think before the traverse. it all became one big verticle climb after a while so i can't say for sure. started at 5:45ish, finished by 12:45ish.
