I am so happy knowing Ellen has been found!

Kathy, we followed someone's footsteps (a lot of someone's). The "trail" got real faint where I and others stopped and where Ed and three others in our group pushed on.

Thank God for that hut, someone really built it well!
Glad she stayed put, it would have been really tough to survive last nights conditions.

Look forward to seeing you on the trail Ellen, and the rest of you too!
And like Walt mentioned, hope the Peak Hut has some nice matching curtains & potpourri in it, although I don't see you as much of a girly girl, your tough!

Here's to all who worked on the search!
I have to say that Ellen might have slept in her own bed last night if the SAR's weren't plucking yet another party off Skyline in winter!

Whew! We had friends all across the country praying for you Ellen! Then Kathy called just as I was walking out the door to join Scott and Perry to come look for you. She and Walt were heading up too, and probably some others that I don't know about. Ellen: You've got people. Well, we'll all look forward to your trip report! Good to hear you're okay.

I am so happy to hear the good news. Ellen is such a generous person that she paid the bill for all ten people at my birthday party at Casuellas Restuarant which is rather expensive and baked me a nutricious loaf of bread to boot.

Great news!

I came up Sunday morning with three other San Diego Mountain Rescue members initially for the rescue of the two marines, but were diverted to the search for Ellen when we arrived.

We were the first team out on this search and covered the main trail to Round Valley. There, we checked the ranger station and restrooms, then en route to Tamarack ,we were called back to the tram due to the windy conditions at around 4:30pm. There were reportedly two other teams out as well, but resources were stretched thin after the other rescues.

This morning I popped in here and gratefully found the news I was hoping for - that Ellen is safely off of the mountain.

Aiming a light on an aircraft is a misdemeanor crime, police said. His name was withheld until after he was booked
