Palm Spring Tram Closed

Anyone know why it's closed? I've noticed the below message has been on their web site for at least the last couple of days.

"THE PALM SPRINGS AERIAL TRAMWAY IS CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO TECHNICAL ISSUES AND THERE IS NO CONFIRMED REOPENING DATE."

I was hoping to climb Mt. San Jacinto this coming week but now I'm wondering if it's going to be doable.

Hi, sometimes Tram Tim makes a post here about closures, I heard it was an electrical issue, (not confirmed), which has happened before, and I'd imagine their hoping to get it fix quickly.
Considering there are only a few weeks before their annual maint. shutdown, Sept 8 thru Oct 12th, (seems longer than normal), it's a bummer for hikers to miss some of the nicest wx up in the mtns.

Sorry for the late post, I’ve been out of state for a bit. Scott you are correct it was an electrical issue; it has now been rectified. Also, the Tramway will be closed for our Annual Maintenance from September 8th through October 13th.
