A Political Joke That May or May Not Be Funny

3 politicians walk into a bar: a libertarian, a progressive liberal, and an anti-communist conservative.

And nobody talks about lowering minimum lot size, even though it aligns with everybody's "beliefs" and would allow more people to own property while lowering rents through free market competition.

When some meth addict with missing teeth prints money in his garage, it's a bit judgemental to call that "counterfeiting." It sounds more respectable if we say it's "tangible quantitative easing through a grassroots initiative."

Self-taught or tutored individuals usually aren't allowed to take job certification exams to demonstrate their skills, instead forced to pay high tuition costs at a school before having the opportunity to try for a professional license. This means the schools don't feel as much competitive pressure to lower their tuitions without a truly capitalist free market. And the people within a profession know that fewer members means they can charge more money to clients. Econ 101 supply and demand. It's like Tonya Harding taking out Nancy Kerrigan. If you can't beat your opponent in the ice skating rink, just have them knee-capped with a baton, right?

For example, most states don't allow people to take the bar exam without first completing law school. Also, immigrants who were certified as doctors in their home country often work other jobs here, despite there being a doctor shortage in the U.S.

Here's some more complaining and strange humor, covid-related:
