What a weather event The lower Station received the most rain in a 24-hour period that I’ve seen, over 9.5 inches, and North Chino canyon could not handle it all. As you know we had a flash flood come down the canyon clearing out the trees that grew in the creek for almost a mile, this is what filled up the culvert along with a rock or two. Currently we have Granite Construction working on the road so hopefully they’ll get the road passable but there are still a few spots along the sides that will also need to be repaired. Along with the road damage a floating tree ripped out the power feed to the Mountain Station so the Station is running on backup generators. There also where many shoots that had water flow that I’ve never seen, this flow causing mud and rocks to cover some of the parking lots as well as the up part of the road. Luckily there was no damage to the Tram itself and is running just fine.
Mother Nature has truly reminded us who is in charge! It is a different view up and down the creek without the trees. We all look forward in seeing everyone again (hopefully) soon
