Hottest Place in the Coachella Valley?

My guess is the Martinez rock slide. Thoughts? It would be interesting to see what kind of surface and air temps could be measured on Monday. I'm not suggesting that anybody walk out there with a thermometer in the middle of the day, but if anybody has a device that records temps and can be retrieved later...

Wunderground reports that temps will reach 118 in Palm Springs and 121 in Borrego Springs on Monday.

Meanwhile in San Diego, it's only supposed to be 99.

I would have to think the martinez slide also, East Desert, low Elevation east facing, completely varnished rock.

Bonnie Bell oasis is a constant 10 degrees cooler than La Quinta which I'm finding wonderful.

Wow, cool map. I've often checked a few locations to see what the relative temperatures were. This will make it a lot easier.

By the way, in my experience the hottest place in the valley is the Costco parking lot. All that black surface baking in the heat, then re-radiating it back up - I wouldn't be surprised if it were 5 degrees hotter than the surrounding desert.

Interesting map, looks like Ocotillo Wells might be the hottest city in SoCal, at least today.

I was thinking more of natural areas, but blacktop sure is hot. If there's no breeze to mix things up, the temps could really climb in a dark-colored parking lot.

Looked up the rockslide on acme mapper. Looks like Toro canyon could get really hot too, being protected from the wind, but the rocks aren't as dark.

Apparently there's a Coinstar to the northwest? In case you find loose change when you're out there, they wanna take a cut of that.
