That was pleasant to meet some of the major contributors of this board. I was surprised that I could actually show up this time. After I think 2 years of emails, message board chats, and phone conversations, I still haven't met Zip (Stan) in person. One of these days...

ZDude was probably there but given the difference in speed we weren't able to see him in some kind of Matrix sort of way. Perry could see him because he was drinking decaf coffee and that slowed him way down.

The whole speed differential thing is really tough to deal with. I remember the day ss blew past while I was sitting and sucking for air above flat rock in the manzanitas. He asked if I was okay and did I need help. By the time I said No and Yes it was too late. He was entering the tree line about 15 minutes above me.

This is a note to you young fast guys...We older guys are never okay and always need help...Don't bother to ask...Just give us whatever Gatoraide you have left and a Snickers bar.

Also...Wait for us in the shady area where Doreen sometime waits and lets hike up to the top with you to make us look good! :P

Hey there Cy, I wanted to wish you a Happy belated Birthday. I know it's pretty darn late but better late than never right?

I have been doing many other things besides hiking for the last few months and just visited the site to see whats new, only to see that your b-day just passed. 11/24 is also my girlfriends b-day.

I'd like to take a moment to once again say thank you for ushering me up C2C for my first time ever back in May 2007. I'm sure that there are other first-timers out there like me that are also very grateful of you. You are a great man Cy and I know that in your eyes hiking this trail is just a healthy hobby. But hiking Skyline Trail (arguably the most difficult trail in So-Cal) with such regularity and frequency at your age (or any age for that matter) speaks volumes to all of us. You're an inspiration that has further fueled my desire to get out into nature and explore. I am sure this trail will bear your name someday very soon.

I look forward to doing C2C with you again next year after the snows have melted.

Oh, and Merry Christmas to all of you forum-goers too!

Thanks for the kind words Matt. I hope that you come back for more when the snows have melted. You would not believe how few people come back for seconds :)
