Early morning conditions for snowshoeing from the tram to the peak are still quite good if you get the first tram up but it gets sloppy and slippery on the way down from Miller saddle. A lot more rocks and brush are showing through on the slope to Miller saddle but with snowshoes I didn't break through on the way up as I feared I might. However, on the way down the same slope today at mid-day, while I still did not punch through, my MSR Evo Denali snowshoes tended to act a bit like skis at times due to the hot temps and slippery surface. It was an enjoyable day, but having sustained a lower leg injury on the descent back in 2005 in similar conditions I am personally done with "tram shoeing" until another storm comes in or temperatures go back down or both. By next weekend I suspect things will be really out of condition.
