Cy's Birthday Nov 24

General Palm Springs area.

Howdy All :D

I apologize if I ruined a surprise party  I was so excited that I wanted to make sure that fellow Cyliners knew about the BIG DAY in advance to participate.

Cy, you are hilarious  After hiking with you, no one would ever think that Cy is short for recycled. "Be like Cy, hike Skyline" could be the motto of all your admirers.

Instead of cake, how about my home-made whole wheat molasses bread? Good for replacing muscle glycogen stores after hiking

Another possible way to celebrate Cy's B-day: if most folks want to hike Skyline on Saturday, how about a post-hike get together at the original Las Consuelas?

Walt -- I still have your pinot from my wine country visit last summer 8) I've exercised great restraint in not consuming it

Ellen - The molasses bread sounds good. We have a licky cat called Molasses :) Consuelas sounds good after the hike. If we all hike together at least part of the way, it will be a more memorable get together.

I certainly want to wish Cy a happy 70th and would think he'd insist on having Skyline be part of his day. :D I would love to join in a hike but have a conflict -- Eric's cross country season has two weeks to go. :D

Howdy Cy :D

I think the idea of hiking together part of the way is excellent 8) Z-dude had a terrific suggestion: meet at Flat Rock at a designated time.

Please plan on Las Consuelas after the hike. I'll bring the congragulatory Smarties and birthday bread.

Howdy Alan :D

Drat!!! I was hoping to latch on as you flew by

Calling all Skyliners :D

Hear ye, hear ye... there will be a get together at Flat Rock at 10 AM this Saturday November 24 to honor Cy on his 70th birthday. Please plan your Skyline start time accordingly 8)

The celebration of Mr. Skyline's big day will continue with food, beverages, and fellowship at the original Las Consuelas at approximately 2 PM.

That would the one located at 368 N. Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs. It is located between Alejo Rd and Amado Rd. It is not the more commonly known and seen Las Casuelas in the tourist area of Palm Springs on S. Palm Canyon Dr.

Well, shoot (slightly). I'm going to bring my fiancee, Michiko, and there ain't no way she can make it to flat rock. She thought Round Valley was a pretty tough hike, and we had to turn back before reaching Wellman Divide. Great gal; not a hiker.

Maybe Michiko and I will just go up the tram and do our own thing and meet you all afterwards at Las Consuelas.

Plus this means that Walt won't be bringing any BBQ. (well, I don't really know if Walt was planning on BBQ, but this eliminates all possibility)
