The faucet at Round Valley is still dry. Maybe the state park needs to hire a plumber? Or a well driller...

There is water in the drainage downstream of the big meadow. The best spot is about a quarter mile away from the first camp area/outhouse. There is a nice little pool fed by a rivulet about 15 feet from the trail. You have to step off the trail a few feet to see it. I also saw 2 stagnant pools farther downstream which looked less appetizing.

I have never been backpacking in the San Jacinto Mountains before. I backpack a lot in the San Gorgonios but because of the Lake Fire I wanted to reschedule a four day backpack to the San Jacintos next week. It seems that the water situation might even be worse than in the San Gorgonios! I'm trying to map out a route using the information I've found here but I'm really unsure. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks so much for the information. That really helps with our planning. You've really got this place covered!
