Florian - It was great meeting & chatting with you today @ the Fire Lookout. In fact it got me to register for this site so I could post this message, how 'bout that! Thanks for volunteering for this service... we all benefit.

I did end up taking the Southridge Trail to the EMST back to Humber like we talked about. I saw the small "Trail" sign you mentioned but I didn't feel like exploring at that point (I sorta twisted my ankle earlier). I did see another sign on Tahquitz View Drive that looked like it might be the terminus for it. It indicated that is was for horses so they can avoid the road. As far as the EMST goes, it's great. A bit short but almost completely shaded & relatively flat... just what you need at the end of a long hike.

Hey Nathan! Thanks for coming up today. Was good to meet you. I'll have to hike the Ernie Maxwell some day just so i can answer people's questions about it. Had a total of 52 visitors at the tower this afternoon. Would probably have been double that if i'd worked both morning and afternoon shifts.

I was up in the San Jacintos this weekend... but I came up the Fuller Ridge Trail. Didn't quite make it as far south as Tahquitz lookout. Only a matter of time before I do since it's a great place.
