Its hard to believe that someone was hiking Skyline in this weather. I think this is a new one. Not too much info available

Palm Springs Mounted Police Search & Rescue added 2 new photos.

At approximately 3:40pm on 6/20/2015, the Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue Unit was dispatched to the Skyline Trail in Palm Springs to aid a dehydrated hiker at around the thousand foot level. The RSO Aviation Unit (Star 94) performed the search and CHP Aviation (H60) hoisted a PSMP member down to the hiker for extraction. The hiker was then transported off the mountain by CHP H60 to waiting Palm Springs Fire Department and AMR. The hiker was released at the scene and not transported to hospital.

The kesq report says the hiker was airlifted -

For summer hiking, the statement by the Palm Springs Mounted Police seems a bit lame, even after correcting 'lower temperatures' to 'higher'. I'm sure Cynthia could craft something more appropriate.
