Anyone else heading up the Skyline Trail on November 17th? I'm hoping to do it that day if the weather allows - it would be nice to get up there before the snow comes.

Howdy Kathy and Cy :D

I'd love to go up Skyline Saturday November 17th. This weekend, I'll probably go up San Bernardino peak with my hiking buddy Lance.

It will be great to be in the mountains again -- I've been going through pine tree withdrawal

Skyline for November 11?

Postby bdc » Wed Nov 07, 2007 8:53 pm

Hi. Is anyone heading up on Sunday morning? I have done the hike with Cy and kept up pretty well. I slowed him down by about 15 minutes from his usual time. I want to try to do the full C to C so I would like to leave as early as possible. Of course this is assuming that the fire closure ends.
Thanks,
carla

Hi Kathy,

I'm likely to be on the trail both this Saturday and next. I think the last time we saw each other we were going in opposite directions on the narrow portion of Tamarisk trail.

I went up Murray this morning before work and was surprised find about 8 on the trail that early.

This is like old times. Almost everyone is going. A group from the Outdoorsclub is also going, You all missed a lot of excitement last Saturday. Doreen and I took up a newbie called Sean. He will give you a trip report soon.

Howdy all :D

I'll definately be hiking Skyline this Saturday 8)

What time are people starting? I'm thinking about starting between 5 and 6 AM. That way, if I'm insane enough to do C2C, I'll have enough daylight. Also, if I stop at the tram, it will be late enough for the bar to be open for draft beer

The weather sounds perfect for this weekend. National Weather forecast for Palm Springs this weekend:

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 83.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 79.

I'm going to start sometime in the morning on Saturday depending on when I can drag my lazy butt out of bed.

Today was at least ten degrees warmer than last Saturday. Kathy caught up to me just before Long Valley after starting more than an hour later. We think Ellen must have had a late start because of road construction (two lanes)or an accident in Redlands. Another great day.
