I took this back in August 2011. That's the PCT as it goes over the ridge.
Looks like plenty of room for a small-footprint camper like yourself, Jim. Lots of nice spots. And, if I remember correctly, there was at least one other nice spot along that ridge as you head south on the PCT toward Saddle Junction. So have no fear, you'll be following the LNT guidelines in that someone will have camped there before you.
I also notice that this spot is conveniently on the NFS side of the State Park Boundary, while still being within easy walking distance of fresh water at Wellmans Cienega. Good plan. I always thought that this spot would be a nice place to camp, with fine views all around. As long as it isn't too breezy, as saddles are notorious for Venturi-effect winds.
