Skyline Feb 28

Howdy All :)

Went up yesterday with Kathryn and Indie Jack. We were passed by Doug, Diana and Speedy Steve. Did not see significant snow until the beginning of the traverse (7.4 K), where a group of new Skyliners had donned microspikes. Our boot track from Monday was still present (thanks again Craigmeister), so I just followed in our track up to Grubbs Notch. It started to snow very lightly from Coffman's on up.

There weren't too many folks on Skyline -- apparently the forecast scared folks away. From looking at the tram cam today, it looks like the snow came in one day later than everyone expected. At least it's coming down now :D

The new Skyliners arrived safely at the tram -- deservedly happy with their accomplishment 8) The other good news -- we didn't have to wait for a cab.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

Congratulations Ellen on another Skyline! I was in Palm Canyon by the stone pools yesterday and even down there we were getting 'blown down' some drops. Good thing you didn't go today, it's been coming down all day! Can't wait to see what the slopes look like tomorrow morning! :D

Hi Ellen,

Did you summit yesterday or just up to the Tram? On Skyline did you need micro spikes or where you fine without?

Thanks,

Shane

Howdy Shane,

I carried microspikes on Saturday and stopped at the tram.

I went up yesterday (check out the TR). I recommend waiting until 1) the snow has consolidated and 2) you have a boot track to follow.

Ellen
