Speculation on the Ending of the Fire Closure

General Palm Springs area.

Booyah! I just spoke with the ranger (from Cy's posting above, thanks Cy!) and yes, San J will be open for hiking. He mentioned that it might not be fully open (camping, shooting, etc.) but hiking is fine.

I probably won't be on Skyline (PCT instead) but I hope to see some of you at the peak or on the way back to the tram. Wish me luck, this is a long one!

Ps Jim, I think you have way too much time on your hands (conclusion is a direct result of the posted illustration). I'm wondering if you've switched over to my philosophy of wedding planning?

Great news Zip. I will go on Skyline on Saturday at 5 am or slightly before.

So what time would you be starting over in Snow Creek Zip? I've scheduled that hike twice and both times it was just howling wind.

There's nothing on the Mt SJ State Park website that I saw announcing the re-opening. Seems odd.

Today 11/10 was a cool day on Skyline. I saw fifteen people on the trail. I hiked up with Doreen and Sean from the Press Enterprise in eight hours. Scott told us about the missing hiker.
