OldnSlow - That may have been the case at some point(and it makes sense), but the Sheriff's Aviation Dept now discourages it because of the damage that often happens from letting the cable drag on the ground. Additionally, there is very little time to get properly hooked in and time is definitely of the essance when in windy or bad conditions. A few missions ago, some of the team members experienced some mild shocks due to static electricity, but it wasn't terrible. Maybe its a blessing to keep members on their toes and WIDE AWAKE!!
