Hm, this is interesting. This doesn't correlate with the recent article in the Desert Sun, which seemed to suggest that all the original parcels proposed for the swap, including 36, were still in. I agree with Florian that Parcel 36 is the area of greatest concern with a high possibility of developement. Like Florian, I don't feel too concerned about Parcel 16 (Skyline) as it would be so difficult to develop. Kathy, thank you for wading through this document and adding to our understanding. I don't understand why public documents need to be written in such dense legal language, making it very difficult for laypeople to grasp.

Cynthia, they're written like that so that it will take tremendous effort on our part to figure out what they're doing! Scoundrels. In any case, their promise that "there won't be any changes soon but we can't say there will never be any changes" means "we'll do anything we like as soon as we own the land and there's absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop us". Like we mentioned in the original thread on this proposal, the access to Indian Canyons is extremely limited and there is a substantial cost involved every time you go. So it's absolute madness to trade a whole bunch of our parcels for two of their parcels that are out in isolated areas where no one can use them. This is a land grab for development, pure and simple. How they do it with such boldface arrogance is what surprises me. BTW, I'm not in particular against the Indians as a group. If anything my sympathies have always been on the side of those who were the original owners. But this is far removed from that point in history. This is simply one more manipulation by wealthy land owners. I'm on the side of the public not being ripped off by greed.

I one hundred percent agree with that, Zip.
