Nice pics.

I couldn't agree more on the boring walk through the campground and the GPS points. When I popped out of the rocks at the top of Gunsight Notch I kept second guessing how far we had come and when we would run into BST. Somehow ended up turning east once out of the dry wash and and ran into Willow Hole trail by chance. Never did connect with BST. Luckily had been in the area enough to figure out where I was. Our loop started and ended at western most part of campground.

In that cold I imagine you didnt run into many people!

I got a little worried about finding BST also. If you look at the map below, you'll see walked nearly parallel with it for a while:

I could see some familiar rocks in the distance, had my GPS and a printed map, so I wasn't too worried about getting lost, it was just surprising how far off BST was I think.

We didn't see many people until we got down into Rattlesnake Canyon. We also say a few descending from Gunsight Notch.

I like your map. May use it the next time out there.

It's almost embarrassing to admit but I thought i was still heading southish out of the Notch dry bed but had somehow turned east and ran into WH trail as you start going back into the canyon. Just about under the 2nd "E" of your map in "tree". Never ran into the BST as we planned. We were moving way faster than I had planned and we were doing way too much talking and not paying attention. But I did love the loop once I was sure where we were again.

looks like you guys had a nice trip, hope you got a chance to do some reading at oh bay yo yo. I agree with ndr about having a hard time judging distance in there, sometimes i feel clueless. If you havent done that section of tbs trail you should throw it in sometime, its a very nice area where it drops from the upper park to the lower elevations.
