Reminder to Skyline hikers the tramway is closed

Postby Florian » Tue Sep 09, 2014 7:07 am

Reminder to all potential Skyline trail hikers that the tramway is currently closed for maintenance. Scheduled reopening is Saturday, 9/20. Do NOT hike the Skyline trail if you are expecting to ride the tram back down. You will be turned away at the mtn station and you'll have to either hike back down to PS or out to Idyllwild.

Does anybody know if the annual pass will be extended this year due to the 2 week shutdown?

I doubt it. The tram closes for maintenance most years and they don't extend the pass. However they did extend last year's summer pass after the Mountain Fire had the tram closed for a month.

When you buy your pass they automatically extend the expiration date by two weeks!
