C2C hike info

Postby cook.675 » Thu Apr 24, 2014 3:46 pm

Was thinking about hiking the trail this weekend, 2 questions

1) is there snow on the top still

2) how long does the entire thing take from the start, to getting back to the car, assuming a pretty hefty pace.

thanks!

also, can you take a taxi back to your car instead of a shuttle? if so where do you call them from>?

Here is a good breakdown of the trail. This weekend will be my first time up this trail so I really don't have a hole lot of good information to give out other then what I've found online.

I don't hike all that fast, but my two C2C trips have both taken around 13 hours.

6-7 for Skyline
1 hr break @ ranger station
5-6 hrs for Ranger Station > summit > tram

For comparison sake, have you hike Mt. Whitney or Baldy via Bear Canyon?

You can ask the person manning turnstyle at the tram desk to call a cab for you, but it seems the cab only shows up about 50% of the time.

You can also call with your cell phone (760.300.0000) from Mountain Station if you have reception. You most likely will not have reception at Valley Station. You can also text the taxi co:
Book via text message
Text pickup address to
(760) 444-0056
Receive confirmation in seconds
