Do you need micro-spikes for summit this weekend?

I'll try C2C this weekend. Do you need micro-spikes for Sid Davis or summit this weekend? The ranger said there are patches of snow near the boulders at top, but I will also be off trail in shaded area on Sid Davis is my guess. First time taking this route. Would like to lighten my pack by 13 ozs.
