weekend access to mountain

Postby wb » Wed Feb 26, 2014 8:43 am

It is looking like a major snow weekend for San Jacinto. I am bringing a group up Saturday morning on the PSAT. Can any of you locals advise as to the reasonableness of doing so given the current weather conditions? Will the tram continue working in weather? Any other concrrns or considerations to be aware of? Thanks!

The tram loves snow, great for business. They only shut down for extreme winds. Expect large crowds for the snow. Of course be prepared for variable conditions.
Happy Trails!

You've probably picked the best day of the year. Should be beautiful!

I went to go up the tram once after a major snow dump. It took awhile for them to de-ice the cables, but they were up and running in 1 to 2 hours. It was one of the best days ever and worth the wait!

Gee, I think that maybe my avatar for the board here was taken on that day.
