Water availability

Postby hillbasher » Fri Jan 10, 2014 7:33 pm

Planning on spending 2 nights out next weekend going from the tram to the summit, then down thru Strawberry Junction, on to Saddle Junction, then over Hidden Lake Divide and back to the tram. My question is does anyone know what water availability on that route would be like? Not sure about snow conditions, but the way things have been, am not counting on being much as far as melting it for water goes. Any help will be appreciated.

The main problem you'll have is going from Saddle Junction via Willow Creek over Hidden Lake Divide. That trail is closed due to the Mountain Fire.

On the tram side of things, the only reliable water is going to be at the ranger station in Long Valley and at the spigot in Round Valley.
