Snow Creek Rental Survey

Hi all,

I figured a few people here know of Snow Creek by now. A few other have possibly even considered living there once or twice. If you fit either of these criteria, please consider taking my quick, 10 question survey on rentals in that little community.

Snow Creek seems a little out of the way for most people if they have a job in LA/OC for a monthly rental. A week end get away sounds pretty good though.

That would be a good way to ruin Snow Creek. Too far from town for most folks. Snow Creek itself is off limits and too difficult for most people. Pretty yet you are trapped between the hills and the freeway. Take away the solitude and it won't be pretty anymore.

My ex and I bought a shack there about fifteen years ago, planning to rehab it. After about a year, we decided against it and sold the place. People there quarrel a lot in the way of small insular communities, which we found unpleasant. There were also some 'dubious' characters--I remember the DEA came in a helicopter once and busted a house, and there was another guy who went crazy and shot up his place. There were also an inordinate number of rattlesnakes--as others will tell you, that whole area seems to be a breeding ground of some kind.

Basically we started to feel like the whole place--while obviously very beautiful--had a weird and somewhat unpleasant vibe. It may be better now, I don't know. But I would never buy there again. And I certainly wouldn't rent.
