There is no water on S. Lykken. itself. It's up the canyon to the west of the trailhead. I never really kept tract of how far back.

Hi Cali,
Sounds like your having fun in the San Jacinto's indeed.
I'd highly recommend you put most of your camping gear in a locker at the Mt. Station (top one) of the tram, and Not carry it up Skyline. 10 lbs. makes a very big difference and will fatigue you & your legs for the 2nd 1/2 of ghe climb to the peak.
You may know, there are 2 Lykken trails, north & south, with the Museum connecting into the middle of the north, and Tahquitz Canyon in the middle of the 2 trails. Oswit Cyn is a fun hike on the south end of the south Lykken, and Tehcevah / Dry Falls above the N. Lykken.

A good trainer for Skyline is Murray peak from the north side, but still only approx. 2k gain.
Enjoy the fall season of hiking & climbing,

Cali wrote:Screerider- Wow big post, thank you. lol, on the non smoker thing, one would think it would be easy to just NOT do something, right? But here are millions of us who have been trapped by this self-propelled habit. It takes a mind shift, or quake, to change that.

Or what my hiking buddy did: not pack any for an 11 day Sierra Trek. He was a *tad* grumpy at first, but it was only us, so it was OK.

Hello All! I have a quick question; Should I use this thread to post info on all the hikes I complete?

I would do a new post on each hike. That makes it easier to search for information when people come on the site looking.
