There's the Sam Merrill Trail in Altadena. Could that be it? Is it for sure in Riverside County or is it a Riverside resident lost elsewhere?

There's a San Marin Trail, but that's in Northern California.

I found that one too, but we think they did not go that fare north.

Thanks for all the help Jim, if I hear anything I'll let you know.

There's a serious need for more information. There's not much to go on right now it sounds like.

I know, I feel for the dad he must be going nuts. He was trying to find through Facebook who she may have gone with to see if her family may have more info.

Howdy Tim,

Many hikers from OC head up Mt. Baldy (San Antonio) but I don't know of any trails in that area that could be mistaken for San Morin :(

Hope they"re ok.

Yeah, the "Big Three" of So Cal (in terms of Peaks) are San Gorgonio, San Jacinto, and San Antonio (aka Mt. Baldy).

The primary trails for each are as follows:
San Gorgonio
-Vivian Creek
-Dollar Lake Trail
-Sky High Trail

San Jacinto
-Deer Springs Trail
-Marion Mountain Trail

San Antonio/Mt. Baldy
-Devil's Backbone Trail
-Dawson Peak Trail ("other" Devil's Backbone)
-Mt Baldy Trail (Bear Flats Trail)

The only thing that sounds even vaguely close to the Marin or Morin is the Marion Mtn Trail. Maybe San Jacinto via Marion Mtn got garbled into San Marin?

The Marion Trail is kind of confusing in spots. I got off the trail by accident on my last trip up even though I had been on the trail before.

If there were some indication that San Jacinto were there intended destination and "Marin" got in there somewhere, then I'd be looking on the Marion Mtn Trail. Not a lot to go on, but it sounds like that's all we've got.
