Weekend Skylines

Howdy All :)

I had signed up for a Sunday Skyline with the San Jacinto hiking club as many of my friends were going up. I decided to go for a solo Skyline on Saturday to work off some steam caused by the Vivian Creek gate issue. I also hiked to reach a specific time goal now that I'm 60 years young. To put it another way, on Saturday I exorcised rather than exercised

I apologize if I wasn't very social on Saturday on the trail  By the time I reached Grubbs notch, I was thoroughly knackered without a hint of enmity left  I had a wonderful chat with Gersh, Miguel and another gentleman over recovery beverages at the tram bar. Speedy Steve stopped for a snack prior to heading up to the peak, so I was able to thank him for his efforts and donate to the orange dot removal fund 8)

Thanks to Miguel for buying my beer and to Gersh and his lovely wife for giving me a ride back to the museum. We enjoyed a fabulous meal at Las Casuelas before heading home.

On Sunday, I hiked Skyline with Marilyn and Angela. Even though we left at the same time I had on Saturday (5 AM), the temperature felt much warmer. We were sweating buckets. We caught up to part of the San Jacinto group at St. Florian's cache and others on the traverse. Had a great time chatting with everyone at the tram bar and scarfed down another great meal at Las Casuelas.

Wonder if this current system will dump any significant snow -- I'm looking forward to playing in the white stuff.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

My friends did Skyline and then on to Wellman's yesterday to celebrate a 60th birthday. Weather and time meant we didn't finish to the summit.

Seemed like lots of people coming up Skyline as some of us waited at the ranger station to meet our friends.

Only bummer was the tram driver who forced the hikers to get one way tickets down. She wasn't even pleasant about it.

Thank you for the contribution Ellen, much appreciated. Funny how well paint stripper works to end a 6 page thread of arguing.

Needed to laugh, thanks Speedy Blue 8)

Seriously though -- I will continue to donate to the graffiti removal effort and encourage others to help out if possible.

I always love your TRs Elllen--cuz they always end with Mexican food. :)

Seriously, have another great year of hiking. Can't wait to hear about your next adventure.
