Devils Slide to Tahquitz

Hiked up Devils Slide and over to Tahquitz Peak today. I was surprised by the amount of snow and ice on the trail. 75% coverage at Saddle Junction and pretty much 100% coverage on the trail from the PCT over to Tahquitz. Kinda sketchy in a few places. Did it in trail runners but micro spikes would have been nice.

Think we met a few weeks ago on deer springs....almost was going to go yesterday, but now im glad i didnt. Not enough experience. Although john muir did his walk abouts with nails hanging out of the bottom of his shoes...lol hopefully next weekend will be better for novices like me.

Hey Brad. The conditions were beautiful. Great hiking weather. I suspect most of the snow will be gone after the warmer weather this week.

Agreed, way more snow than I anticipated, but it was really fun. Beautiful day on Sat. Anybody else see that glider cruising around? Looked like a helluva time
