Movie filming on tram road ...

Postby scottmac » Sun Oct 06, 2013 3:50 pm

Heads-up for those training for the Tram Road Challenge or just curious looky-loos:

"In the course of filming our documentary called Agharta (synopsis below), we'll be doing some Aerial Filming on Tuesday Oct 8th 2013 between 6:30 am and 9:00 am. The helicopter will respect FAA regulations but the city of Palm Springs has asked that we inform you of this activity to avoid needlessly alarming your residents.

Please note that there will be NO special effects and NO gun shots or explosions. The helicopter will be filming a car driving on Tramway road towards the mountains and will NOT hover above the residences you manage nor will it engage in low flying maneuvers above said buildings.

We simply want to make sure that your residents are informed so they do not think a police raid or emergency is in effect."

Regards,
Marc Robert, Dir. de Production / Production Manager

Agharta – the Movie

The project is a documentary about French-American painter Robert Tahar. He has been living in California for 30 years and his art is inspired by the colors, textures and nature of the west.

The documentary aims to re-trace his steps and the influence of the American west upon his work and art through a depiction of legendary places such as Death Valley National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park as well as Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley and Valley of the Gods.

Since Tahar has been living in Cathedral city for over 10 years, we intend to film several scenes in the area including the last one as his car drives towards the mountains on a deserted road.

In the words of his best friend: Tahar art’s is religious beyond religion; spiritual beyond spirituality; significant beyond significance; "brut", as Dubuffet described; "calligraphic", as Malraux eructed; away from fashions, schools and tendencies...

If it is a documentary, why are they making up things?
