Hello to Z from Eric

From another thread:
zippetydude wrote:And Alan, if you are there I'll be happy to hear your thoughts on politics. I myself have something of a fatalistic attitude with regard to such matters, but that doesn't mean I'm against your point of view. How's that boy of yours with his running?

I did not want to hijack a perfectly corrupted political thread with family talk.

Eric says "hello" to those out there who know him from hiking the local mountains. He is a second-year geochemistry grad student at USC these days. FIGHT ON would be ecstatic. He is still running a lot and is in great shape. He has not been racing lately but is thinking seriously about a marathon next year. Back in June, he did a solo bicycle ride from his place in LA to Boulder, CO. He even hikes occasionally.

All this family talk....the board has really gone downhill.

You going Saturday? It would be fun to be in the same mob (kinda busy this time of year) and we could share some ideas of new xc adventures...if not, pm me and we'll find something fun to do soon!

Here is a hello from Eric in his tourist moment (Four Corners). You can see that he traveled light.

I assume that this was for bluerail. I am in a recovery mode from some time off (bursitis -- an old man's malady).

Eric's a man after my own heart. I appreciate traveling light. Yes, the note was for bluerail since his post was antecedent, but the thought of you making it extends as well. I've had fun talking with you at previous get-togethers. Remember the discussion around Aspen Grove regarding "Where in the world am I" or something so-themed?

As far as that bursitis, I know what that feels like. The last six weeks of marathon training were noticeably impacted back when I ran on roads. Now I've been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. I'll probably have to be put down in a few weeks...

Ugh. Well, it's not too much walk from the tram station to the bottom of ramp...

Yikes  I didn't know you shared DNA with German Shephards  Seriously though, sorry you're having hip issues.

It will be great to see you tomorrow :)

Sounds like some appropriate anesthetic beverages will be required...
