Okay, now the story is REALLY getting interesting! Enquiring minds want to--nay, have to--know what happened. Can somebody please tell us what exactly happened here? Are we sure the rescued guy was not, in fact, a girl? Or perhaps he was accompanied by a girlfriend who showed a bit more wilderness savvy than him by giving up twenty eight hours earlier and going back down the trail.

Although a transvestite hiker is not beyond the realm of possibility at all. A BLM ranger once told me that when patrolling the desert at the eastern end of the valley, he came upon a guy in a parked truck who was wearing pantyhose and not much else--apparently for his (very) personal enjoyment. :) Wilderness recreation isn't ALL about PRs, waterfalls, and bird-watching, it would seem.
