Fuller Ridge Trail -- Open?

Postby Hikin_Jim » Fri Sep 06, 2013 6:49 am

Any idea of when the Fuller Ridge Trail might open? I'm itching to get on it. :)

I understand that the northwest side trails are open, yes?
That would be:
Deer Springs Trail
Marion Mountain Trail
Seven Pines Trail

Only Fuller Ridge Trail is closed on the NW side as far as I'm aware, yes?

Hi Jim,
As far as I know, all trails on the west side are open, with exception of PCT from Saddle Jct. to Wellman's Divide, (I believe the CCC is doing a section re-route.

O the state parks home page, it state's Fuller Ridge being open, but..., after a series of heavy rains, the dirt rd. to trailhead may be a mess.

I was camping at Boulder Basin last weekend. On Monday, 9/2/13, the ranger told us that the road to the Fuller Ridge trailhead was a "tire shredder"! And with the storms up there in the last few days, it's probably even worse!

I was in the area yesterday, and the trail were pretty chewed up, so I imagine the dirt roads would be too.

Jim have you been able to confirm if Fuller Ridge is open?

The Fuller Ridge Trail surely must be open as I just (two days ago) received my permit to camp at Little Round Valley starting and ending my hike at the Fuller Ridge Trailhead.

The condition of the road, however, is unknown...
