InciWeb is reporting National Forest north of the San Jacinto State Park, including Marion Mountain, Seven Pines and the Deer Springs trails, and Lake Fulmor have reopened. Also Marion Mountain, Dark Canyon, Boulder Basin, Black Mountain and Fern Basin campgrounds have reopened. SJ wilderness remains closed.

Also Long Valley from the tramway is now OPEN including the nature walk and Desert View trail! The remainder of SJ wilderness remains closed.

I just got down from the tram. State Park employees told me the State Park is planning to keep the closures in place until the end of the tram shut down, or the end of August. The main fire damage has been on the Idyllwild side of the mountain, as well as major trail damage from the rains. Particularly hard hit, Willow Creek and Saddle Junction.

That's a bit disappointing but understandable. I'm pretty sure the main human impact to the SJ wilderness is visitors from the tramway. A good solid month+ without that impact is probably a good thing for the mtn. We can wait. We owe it to our mountain.

Went up the tram today and did little hike around Long Valley and the Desert View trail. Was a beautiful morning. SJ wilderness outside of Long Valley from the tram remains closed i think mostly due to rain damage to trails. But on the west side Marion Mtn and Deer Springs trails are open to the peak!

That is one bizarre map, but OK, I guess it is what it is. Sounds like the Deer Springs, Marion Mountain, Seven Pines, and Fuller Ridge Trails are all open to LRV and SJ Peak. I suppose the USFS area south of the state park is all closed?
