San G overnight permit

Postby climbant » Sat Jul 20, 2013 11:08 am

Is it possible to get an overnight permit for San G on the same day? I would like to do Momyer and overnight on the peak, my summer overnights have to be spur of the moment which makes the red tape hard. Everything I have read has said, mail, fax, or in person. It would also be during the week which I know permits are easier to obtain. Hopefully someone can clear it up for me.

Permit instructions & phone

Postby Jill G » Sat Jul 20, 2013 3:06 pm

I have received permits faxed back to me within hours. Depends on how busy Rangers are on the day and they are closed Mon-Wed.
Here's a contact phone Mill Creek Ranger Station (909) 382-2882.
Here's the instructions. On the bottom right click for Overnight Permit form to fill in & fax.

You can also fax it in and ask that the permit be left outside for you to pick up.

Thanks Jill, I re read my post and I didn't ask my question very well. Probably why I haven't got more responses. What I meant was, say I have the opportunity to do an overnight during the week, totally last minute. Can I pack my gear, grab an overnight permit on the way to the TH, and enjoy? Thank you again.

You can -- if the Mill Creek office is open. During office hours, you can just go in and they'll give you a permit on the spot.

I submitted mine at about 9am Friday, got a return at about 11am. No fuss, no muss, via the fax system.
