This humid and cloudy weather has been awesome.

Looks very inactive this morning on the Toro Pk cam following the rain event:

Heavy downpour in Palm Springs around 4a this morning. There is smoke down in Tahquitz Canyon but it might just be drifting down from the upper Tahquitz Valley. No smoke plumes visible.

Long Valley Webcam is back up.

The Long Valley Webcam is back up. What a blessing the rain has been! Still mourning our beautiful hiking grounds.
The difference between a good hike and a bad one is usually just a reflection of what I bring with me.

A wonderful sight indeed! Hoping this puts an end to the advancement into the SJ wilderness. Thanks firefighters for saving the tram.

I've been at a loss for words and so anguished at this that I haven't participated in the conversation much. It is such a relief to wake up this AM to good news.

Huge thanks to all the brave men and women that have been giving it their all to save our beautiful mountain. Thanks also to the natural intervention that the rain has brought.

I know it isn't over yet, but at least there's hope. Thank you to those that have posted pictures and links to information.

Thanks to the rain and the massive amount of work by firefighting crews, residents can go back in to Idyllwild today.

Hello, does anyone have an updated map or access to one. The picture of Garner Valley has in the town crier has to be an old one. If it isn't, that would be great. Pics? From the beginning of this fire and it's location, my first thought was cigarette tossed from a car. I wouldn't be at all surprised. I can't believe how much of this beautiful forest has burned. Anyone know if the weather is helping, estimated containment? Any info would be awesome.
