jfr sez:

"...on long, multiple-day treks the original hipbelt used to break my skin (I'd bleed, but not much due to the constant pressure), and the next morning I'd hoist that pack back on and grimace with pain as the weight bore down on the scabs."

Yikes! Pressure sores begone!!! gel pads to the rescue.

That, or a few trusty palanquin bearers.

Actually, 'tis Papa Jim: cho cho in front, Mariposa (i)n back.

iirc

But the time will be short till the 'cho cho' flies on her own.
Enjoy!

Ah, indeed, my little butterfly ("cho cho" in Japanese toddler talk) will take off on her own all too soon. :( But it's lovely for now.

We went for a walk today to mail my acceptance letter (I got a job!). I put her on my shoulders on the way back home, and she sang little songs that she made up. It doesn't get much better.

Yes, I caught the pun (although I don't always; some of yours are pretty obscure). :)

The Mariposa is a great pack. High marks for it. And it weighs a scant 1.75lbs, including the internal frame. Pretty sweet.

lol. The new job is in Irvine, so I should be about as close as I am now to the San Jacintos, maybe closer depending on where we eventually move.
