Sunday June 9th at 1 PM. Now for the food -- what do folks want to bring?

Worst case, we could meet at a restaurant in Palm Springs if no one wants to cook or bake.

Let's do it at the top of the tram like last time. A San Jacinto gathering not in the San Jacintos? That's just weird.

I can bring the basic fixin's for omelets. People can bring whatever salsas or ingredients that they enjoy with them. We had fun with that last time. Perry's pasilla peppers were quite nice.

I can also bake cornbread on site. Only serves 6 or maybe 8, but I can make multiple courses.

I can also do garlic pasta shells with sun dried tomatoes. Very easy, and a nice alternative for those who don't like eggs.

Sounds good to me I want to have the meet up on the mountain as well -- just didn't know if the potluck aspect was keeping folks from coiming.

Shall I bring bread and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies again?

Sorry to make a last-minute change. The more I think about it, the tram is rough on babies, especially this time of year. There's no air conditioning in the tramcars, and the pressure change is fast. Babies don't know that swallowing and yawning relieves the pressure in their ears. She would have to wear nothing but a diaper, then we spray her with water during loading time, then she nurses during the tram ride up. She doesn't like the chest baby carrier, so we would have to bring a huge stroller on the tramcar, or buy an umbrella stroller which she may or may not like.

How does Idyllwild sound? (Think: happy baby.)

We may have to finalize this on Saturday. If anybody will not have Internet access on Saturday, you can email or pm now, and we can exchange cell #'s.

I see a couple of picnic areas marked on the map, but I'm not really that familiar with the amenities.

I just walked the dog through the state park picnic area a couple hour's ago It's more bushy and spread out but smaller than The county park witch is flat and in a stand of pines with a bunch of tabels they both have wood/charcoal burning grilsl. If you wan't me to check on them for sunday and kinda look at them as a picknicker instead of a hiker passing through I can check both tomorow afternoon to see wich one has the best shade and tables. How many people do you expect. Also the nature center up on HWY 243 just out of town has tables and ???
