Tram 2 Caramba r/t hike

Postby bytebit » Tue May 14, 2013 7:58 pm

Hi there. Have you or someone you know hiked from the Tram to Caramba and back in the same day? I think it is about 12-14 miles. I'd like to do this hike!

I look forward to your reply, David :)

I've done it from Humber Park. It's very doable in a day from either trailhead if you maintain a good pace. If you do it from the tram, catch the first tram.

Yup, many here have done the hike. Last i did it was a couple years ago. My notes say it was about 13 miles round trip taking 5 hours 55 minutes including time spent poking around the waterfalls.

It's really a lovely hike, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are a bunch of wildflowers blooming now. I would like to point out that you hike DOWN to Caramba, which means you have to hike UP to get back. I did it on a pretty hot day once and got low on water on the way back up. I had wished I'd filled up with more water at the falls.

Get an early start and have fun, David!

I was just there last Wednesday (5/14). Many of the creeks are still flowing but at very low volumes. It's been a very dry year.
