Hello,

I'm planning on hiking up Mt. San Jacinto sometime this week from the tram...will we hit any snow on the way up? I know tennis shoes aren't ideal, but can we make it all the way up in those?

Hi, I hiked from Humber Park to the summit yesterday. There are three small easily traversable patches of snow lower down (which you wouldn't hit coming via the tram). There is one negligible area of snow which you will encounter, but it's a breeze to step around it.

I did see a rattlesnake about 10 minutes after the fork which leads to Taquitz. It was a small snake on the trail which slowly left as we approached. So be alert.
