San Jacinto Mt from Humber 5.2.13

Postby greatshaitan » Tue May 07, 2013 10:25 am

Another beautiful trip up San Jacinto Mt. Left Humber Park at 6:30am. It was a cold and windy day, lots of dust being blown around from the winds. Made the summit at 10:30. Stayed up top for about 30 minutes without seeing another person. Back down to the car at 2:00pm and then to Aroma Cafe for some tasty food. Ran into about 50 PCT through hikers on the way back down to Humber Park. One guy was hiking the entire distance barefoot!

View from the top, notice the smoke from the Banning fire.

Tasty food at Aroma Cafe. Caprese sandwich and a Mission Brewery Kolsch.

Great pics. We may have to try that cafe, we usually celebrate at the Lumber Mill with a burger and beer.

Great TR & pictures! Thanks. I did the same hike on Friday, May 3. It was cool seeing and talking to all the PCT thru hikers on route! Really nice people. I'll have to try that restaurant next time.

Thanks for sharing those pics, greatshaitan! What's with this hiking shoeless thing?! That guy's going to have some pretty tough calluses by the time he's done.

Vnthali, where in tarnation have you been hiding out? I think of you from time to time, and I'll never forget our adventure to Jean. I hope you stick around!
